Surface Mount Electric Strike For Use On Commercial Doors With Rim Exit Devices
This American Entrance Controls electric strike lock is surface mounted to the door frame and designed for hollow metal or wood doors with a rim exit device.
How A Surface Mount Electric Strike Works
When the American Entrance Controls electric strike lock is installed on a hollow metal door steel frame, the electric strike lock keeps the door secured and locked at all times by holding the rim exit device's pullman latch inside of the electric strike keeper. When the electric strike is activated, the electric strike keeper automatically releases the rim exit device's latchbolt, allowing the door to swing open freely.

Additional Surface Mount Electric Strike Options
Power Supply Option
This option includes a power supply transformer to power the electric strike lock. Plug in power supplies are available or a enclosed power supply with cabinet is available.
Controller Option
This option includes a time delay controller which allows the electric strike to activate after a specified delay. A buzzer function is included on the controller and can be turned on or off. A controller is necessary if you wish to integrate a security keypad, request to exit, under desk switch, wireless activation fob, or other accessories in your door lock system.
On / Off Key Switch Option
When this option is chosen, we include a American Entrance Controls key switch that can be wired into the electric strike door lock system. The building owner can turn the electric strike lock system on or off using the key switch. This can be useful if the building owner wishes to keep the door unlocked during normal business hours. Then once business hours are over, he or she can insert the key into the key switch to activate the electric strike door lock system, locking the doors. During after hours, only employees or personnel who have an authorized pin code will be able to enter the building. Anyone inside of the building can exit using the red request to exit push button.
Wireless Handheld Transmitter Fob Option
When this option is chosen, we include the American Entrance Controls receiver module and two American Entrance Controls wireless handheld key fobs. This option is perfect for building receptionists or front desk clerks. The handheld key fob can be pressed by the receptionist to wirelessly transmit a radio signal to the electric strike lock system, telling it to unlock the door, allowing the pedestrian access into the secure area. The wireless key fob can also be used by the building owner as a means to unlock the door from the outside of the secure area by simply pressing the button on the key fob. This option includes two wireless key fobs, however if more are needed, they can be purchased at the link below. Please note the American Entrance Controls receiver module can program up to 74 transmitters.
Request to Exit Switch Options
This option will include a request to exit switch that can be mounted on the interior door side. We offer a touchless wave to exit switch or a traditional push to exit button.
Under The Desk Activation Switch
This option includes a momentary toggle switch that can be mounted behind a desk inconspicuously. When the toggle switch is flipped, it will unlock the electric strike lock allowing the door to open by the pedestrian outside.
