ANSI Grade 1, Commercial Exit Panic Hardware For Door
American Choice exit devices provide safety to any commercial building. Our products are high quality and meet ADA and building code compliance. American choice exit devices latch and secure exit doors. When the push pad is engaged it retracts the latchbolt on the device, releasing the door to swing open. Exit devices are required in commercial buildings. The American Choice exit device is categorized as an ANSI grade 1 device, which is the highest grade an exit device can achieve. This gives building owners and contractors the peace of mind knowing that American Choice exit devices are safe, reliable, and will last for years to come.
Interior Or Exterior Door Use
American Choice exit devices are expected to be used on interior or exterior commercial doors. The heavy duty exit device chassis allows the American Choice exit device to withstand abuse in the busiest door ways, while also performing its function safely. The exit device features an auxiliary guarded latch design allowing the latchbolt to automatically deadlock after closing.
Fire Rated (No Dogging) Or Panic Rated (Dogging)
The term "dogging" refers to the exit device's ability to retract and hold the latchbolt. A dogging exit device will have an allen key hole in the push pad to manually retract the latchbolt during business hours. Dogging exit devices are common for security doors where the latchbolt can be retracted for the entire day, and then placed in the locked position when the building is in after hours. American Choice exit devices come in two versions, a fire rated version or non-fire rated (panic rated) model. Fire rated models are designed for use on doors with fire labels up to 3 hours. As per NFPA 80 requirements, fire rated exit devices do not come with the dogging feature, since fire doors must always latch for safety. The non-fire rated exit device or panic rated device comes with the dogging feature.
ADA Compliant
ADA, or the Americans With Disabilities Act, is a law passed in 1990 which includes commercial door requirements that ensure equal accessibility to all. Any ADA compliant door must use ADA compliant door hardware. Unfortunately, there are many exit devices on the market today that are not ADA compliant. With American Choice, you will have the peace of mind knowing that the exit device you purchase is ADA and Building Code compliant.
ANSI Grade 1 - Tested & Exceeded 500,000 Door Cycles
ANSI, the American National Standards Institute, creates standards for the performance of commercial door exit devices and panic hardware. American Choice exit device products surpass and exceed these standards. With American Choice exit devices we have achieved the highest grade possible, a grade 1, meaning our exit device has exceeded over 500,000 door opening cycles. This means the American Choice exit device will perform for many years on any commercial door. Unfortunately, there are many inferior exit device models on the market today that do not list an ANSI grade because they have not been tested or cannot qualify for a grade. These unlisted devices are not certified or compliant with ANSI, ADA, or Building Code requirements. Have the confidence knowing that American Choice exit devices meet all ANSI, ADA, and Building Code requirements.
