Old Castle Deadlatch Lock Conversion Kit - Replaces Standard Old Castle Deadbolt
The Old Castle deadlatch lock conversion kit is designed to replace an Old Castle door with a deadbolt or deadlock. This kit is primarily used in applications that require a secure entry with exit only functionality. This lock system can be used in 2 main operation modes: Exit Only or 2 Way Traffic.
Exit Only Operation:For exit only operation, the pedestrian must have a key to enter the building. Anyone can exit at any time by simply pushing the exit paddle handle to release the deadlatch lock.
2 Way Traffic Operation:The user can dog down the paddle handle, by depressing it and turning a small allen bolt to keep the paddle in the depressed position. With the paddle depressed the door can be opened from both sides, since the deadlatch lock is released or unlocked. When the user wishes to return to exit only operation he or she can undog the paddle handle by turning the allen key on the paddle handle.
