American Entrance Controls 4.5" x 4.5" Heavy Duty Electric Hinge For Transferring Power From Steel Door Frame to Commercial Wood Door
The American Entrance Controls electric power transfer hinge is designed to distribute low voltage power from a commercial door frame to the door. These electric door hinges work great for security door systems that require power to electrified hardware on the door such as electrified mortise locks, electrified cylindrical locks, electrified exit devices, and much more.
American Entrance Controls Electric Hinge Features
- 48" Wire Length On Door Side
- Wire Access Cap On Each Hinge Leaf
- Designed For Use On Commercial Wood Doors
- Two Heavy Duty Ball Bearings
American Entrance Controls Monitoring Option
This feature is a concealed monitor switch inside of the door hinge that signals the position of the door.
American Entrance Controls Wire Options and Specifications
Below are the wire options available with American Entrance Controls electric hinges. As a general rule of thumb, if the electrified hinge is going to be used to run power to an electrical device, be sure the power wires are the proper gauge by referring to the manufacturer specification of the device. Typically, 18 gauge wires are used for distributing power to electric lock accessories, while 26 and 28 gauge wires are utilized for REX monitoring. Assume 2 wires for each type of monitoring on an electric lock. For example, an electrified exit device with REX (request to exit) monitoring and latchbolt monitoring would require a power transfer hinge with a total of 6 wires (2 each 18 gauge wires to power the electric solenoid in the exit device, 2 each 26 gauge wires for the REX monitoring, and 2 each 26 gauge wires for the latchbolt monitoring).
2 Total Wires (2 Each 20 Gauge Wire)- Continuous Operation: 4 Amps at 24VDC
- Surge Amperage For 0.5 Seconds: 16 Amps at 24VDC
4 Total Wires (4 Each 26 Gauge Wire)- Continuous Operation: 1 Amps at 24VDC
6 Total Wires (6 Each 26 Gauge Wire)- Continuous Operation: 1 Amps at 24VDC
8 Total Wires (8 Each 28 Gauge Wire)- Continuous Operation: 1 Amps at 24VDC
10 Total Wires (10 Each 28 Gauge Wire)- Continuous Operation: 1 Amps at 24VDC
2 Total Wires (2 Each 18 Gauge Wire)- Continuous Operation: 5 Amps at 24VDC
- Surge Amperage For 0.5 Seconds: 16 Amps at 24VDC
4 Total Wires (2 Each 18 Gauge Wire, 2 Each 26 Gauge Wire)- 18 Gauge Wire Continuous Operation: 5 Amps at 24VDC
- 18 Gauge Wire Surge Amperage For 0.5 Seconds: 16 Amps at 24VDC
- 26 Gauge Wire Continuous Operation: 1 Amps at 24VDC
6 Total Wires (2 Each 18 Gauge Wire, 4 Each 26 Gauge Wire)- 18 Gauge Wire Continuous Operation: 5 Amps at 24VDC
- 18 Gauge Wire Surge Amperage For 0.5 Seconds: 16 Amps at 24VDC
- 26 Gauge Wire Continuous Operation: 1 Amps at 24VDC
8 Total Wires (2 Each 20 Gauge Wire, 6 Each 28 Gauge Wire)- 20 Gauge Wire Continuous Operation: 4 Amps at 24VDC
- 20 Gauge Wire Surge Amperage For 0.5 Seconds: 16 Amps at 24VDC
- 28 Gauge Wire Continuous Operation: 1 Amps at 24VDC
American Entrance Controls Hinge Molex Connectors
This option allows you to add the molex connectors to your wire leads on the American Entrance Controls electric power transfer hinge. The molex connectors are compatible for direct retrofit with Assa Aboy ElectroLynx or Allegion Connect wire transfer hinges. We offer both 8 or 12 pin molex connectors depending on your application, for seamless and fast connection between the wire transfer hinge and the lock.
